Ode to Allie
O
When I first came to know
The girl I call “Allie O”,
She was very young and a little
bit lost,
But honest, and I could trust
her at any cost.
She came to work as my right
hand
In an industry that worked hard
with the land.
She was easy to like and worked
oh so hard
To learn all I had for her to
absorb.
She learned procedures and
clients
And complex computer routines.
She learned parts, service, and
paperwork
For earth working machines.
But most of all she came close
to my heart.
I considered her as one of my
own from the start.
As time went on our relationship
adjusted
From Manager/Employee to one
even more trusted.
Like father and daughter we became
And joy filled my camera frame
by frame.
I love Allie O and her family;
each one is unique.
I love that she lets this old emotional
antique
Into the lives that each of
them leads
So I can keep loving the joy
that she to me freed.
She is a joy to her folks, and
to me as well
I’m pleased to think that she
is doing swell
I put her picture on my “rogues’
gallery” wall.
I like to include her in my
family’s all.
