The New Year is upon us

As 2010 winds down..(for some it already did..but for me it hasn't yet) there are some things to recall.  History is preserved so that we may remember the mistakes made and resolve not to repeat them.  We should remember the nutty things congress did during this past year and resolve not to permit them to repeat them.  Here is a list of things our nation needs to repent of and determine never to do again.

1.   ObamaCare.  Repeal it, or defund any enforcement.
2.   So-called stimulus package.  It was a stupid and ineffective way to pump money into the economic system.
3.   Current Tax Package......What a load of CRAP.  Taxes need to be permanently reduced.  Government expenditures need to be severely pared down.  Return the government to the limits described by the constitution.  Heaven forbid we actually follow our founding documents.
4.   The Department of Homeland Security needs to be de-funded.  Too much power, too little common sense.

That having been said, inroads were made this year.  May we continue to pry the socialistic bureaucratic knuckleheads out of elective and non-elective office and put normal folks into those positions that can actually think for themselves and can remember the protections of the constitution.

May we have a prosperous New Year.

It gets worse by the day

I read on Drudge today that officials in Florida will violate the 5th amendment by forcing citizens to indict themselves via forced breathalizer tests at  check points.  And the Department of Injustice is applauding the move.  MADD and others are happy it is happening, but I see another infringement of our rights.  We are becoming more and more of a police state, and just as oppressive as the Soviet Union of the late 60's.  We are asking citizens to spy on their neighbors just as Hitler's thugs did in the 30's and early 40's.

We have to struggle against this incursion of our rights.  In my opinion we are becoming less and less free as we permit more and more of this nonsense in the name of "national security" or "personal security".  While I don't drink, or smoke.....ever....I believe it is every citizen's responsibility to take care of his own personal security.  People are used to limits, but as choices are removed, responsibility is also removed.  Now the state must assume responsibility for DUI's and indoor smokers, because there is a law.  If the law is broken and the state does nothing, a reasonable lawsuit can be brought against it.  Civil responsibility is assumed by the state.  Wonderful, isn't it?

Satan, according to the Bible,  wanted to force us all, against our will, to return to Heavenly Father's kingdom.  Jehova's plan was to give us choice and let us earn our way because of those choices.  Why do these statists think they know more than God?  We must have freedom of choice so as to prove ourselves.  We cannot prove ourselves at all without the ability to make conscious decisions to do right or do wrong.

We must put an end to these Marxist/Stalinist procedures.  We have to get the government OUT of our daily lives.  If we want our country to be great again, we have to let the people do what they do best.  Work out their own personal/family plan without interference from bumbling bureaucratic blockheads.

King Barry's Gestapo agents "protecting" hotels and malls?

I feel us sinking into the pre-WWII Germany.  King Barry's minions have begun to expand airport security to include airports and malls.  Take a look at www.infowars.com  I wonder when/where the encroachment on our freedoms will end.  I wonder if there is a country that will help us as the USA helped the German people rid themselves of Hitler.  King Barry must not be permitted a 2nd term.  Though all this started under the guidance of  Dubya, King Barry has expanded this immoral and improper "taking" of our freedoms.

I propose that we pressure our congressional representatives to reign in the brownshirts this administration has instituted.  Turn off the money spout so these people cannot enforce their efforts to control the populace.   The Department of Homeland Terrorism needs to be disbanded.  It was ill conceived and those running it are obsessed with control of the American people.

It is with disbelief that I read a story about a pilot being disciplined for pointing out that flight crews are pawed and their naked bodies viewed, but the ground crews only have to swipe their TWIC cards for access.  Anyone in the transportation business knows how easily a TWIC card is obtained, and how easily they are loaned.  If a terrorist wanted to blow up an airliner, there is no need to do it from the flight deck or passenger compartments.

OOPS.  We are not supposed to be smart enough to figure out the farce the Transportation Services Abusers are affecting.  We are not supposed to be informed sufficient to know that we are being herded much as a flock of sheep by a sheep dog.  We are not supposed to figure out that our liberties are being removed and our ability to move about the country is being restricted in the name of "fighting terrorism" because we refuse to be sexually attacked by TSA perverts.   I wonder when they'll decide that we can't be permitted to enter our own automobiles without being somehow cleared by TSA to do so, because we might be terrorists.  After all it hasn't been islamists of middle eastern extraction that has done each and every one of the terrorist acts against the United States.  It has obviously been anglo Nuns, old ladies in wheel chairs or infants/toddlers who have done these awful acts.

DISBAND THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND INSECURITY.

JumboJim's Christmas Message

Merry Christmas everyone.  I'm enjoying the perfect Christmas.  I enjoyed giving needed gifts to those I love instead of mindless games, trinkets, or items never to be used.

I know that God lives and that He is interested in our well being.  I know that He sent His son to be born on this world, to grow and to be sacrificed in order that ALL of His sons and daughters have the opportunity to return to His realm providing they will obey His son's commandments.

I know that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, Mary, in Bethlehem.  I know that he suffered the atonement so that we may repent of our sins and become clean and worthy to enter into Eternal Life.  I know that Jesus was crucified in order to conquer death and establish the ordinance of resurrection so that ALL mankind may also experience resurrection, even those who do not believe in Him.   I know that Jesus was resurrected and left this world in the same manner in which he will return to it.  I know that Jesus Christ will return to this world in Eternal Glory to claim it as His kingdom.  I know that many of us will be disappointed at his coming.  I know He is the Savior of the world.  Princess and I love him and we are appreciative of the things God does in our behalf.

I'll return to the rant tomorrow.

What a way to end a year

Let's see.  Don't ask, Don't tell; Obama Care; Start; Tax Bill; Internet Neutrality.  I'm not sure which is worse, but I AM sure each of them heads Uncle Sam's America down a slippery slope from which we may never recover.

Don't Ask, Don't Tell:  So we become the 2nd class military that some of the Scandinavian countries have.  Pervaded with the decadence of LGBT soldiers.  I am ashamed that our politicians are such milk toast excuses for statesmen.  Whatever happened to real manhood?  It seems like the feminization of America began in the 80's during the time of the ERA push.  I wonder why the fad is now to become what we are not.  Men want to be women-ear rings, long hair and all.  Women want to become men-crew cut hair-do, tattoos, and all.  Children are confused what is normal because of what they see through mass media.  I KNOW God is not pleased with all this.  It is decadent, it is immoral, it is wrong, and it needs to be resisted.

Obama Care:  Since when is it right that the government can demand it's citizens to purchase a product, wanted or not?  I wonder how many legislators own stock in insurance companies.  I wonder how many legislators promised a vote based on donations to their campaigns, whether overtly or covertly.  I do know that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.  As a result of this misguided corrupt act, our insurance premiums are going UP instead of the promised down.  I pay 20% more for a lower class of insurance because of this boondoggle.  When will our legislators understand that we send them to Washington to represent us, but not to rape us.

START:  So now we have to degrade our national defense because the Russians say so?  What about our other potential enemies, i.e. Iran, Venezuela, China, and others.  I guess we can't defend ourselves against our enemies because it might offend them?  After all we are all about appeasement, even if it kills us.

Obama's Tax Bill:  Why should the Government tax a fellow's income at some outrageous rate, and then tax it again simply because he loses his life?  It makes me think each individual, who has a little money, should incorporate.  Therefore the money becomes family corporation money and nobody's personal money.  Less taxes, more freedom to use it.  I wonder why more people don't use that avenue.

Internet Neutrality:  So the Red Diapered Doper Babies (as Savage lovingly calls these leftist elitists) think because a company wants to actually make a profit, they should make rules preventing just that.

I go back to my previous rants.  Abolish the Federal anti-Communication Commission, Abolish the Federal anti-Aviation Administration, Abolish the Department of anti-Transportation, the Department of  Offensive Education,  the so-called Environmental Protection Agency (all they really protect is their own positions with junk science, using uneducated "scientists", spending unearthly amounts of money in the process).

History, Education and Professionalism

I remember years ago, when I was a child, my father was a school teacher.  In those days teachers were respected for their wisdom, education, and opinion.  They were pillars of society to whom the community looked for guidance.  As a result of this respect my father was appointed Town Magistrate.

In my not so humble opinion my father deserved the respect that he was given.  He demanded excellence in his classroom and he got it.  He exuded confidence.  He was respected because he was respectable.  He dressed as one of respect should dress.  When he was in the classroom he always wore dress clothing.  When he met with students and parents, he wore clothing that reflected his professionalism and his demeanor was always respectful to them.  People in our town looked up to my father, as I also did.  Teachers of that day all acted and dressed similarly.  The women teachers wore dress clothing, whether pants suits or dresses, they were always dressed for success.

Fast forward 50 years......I've been observing todays "professional" teachers.  These days it is pretty hard to tell the sloppy teen aged students from the sloppy adult teachers.  In fact, a few days ago I saw a teacher at one of the local schools who was wearing worn and torn jeans and a t-shirt.  Perhaps I am a little old fashioned, but I find it very difficult to respect a teacher who has so little respect for his profession that he or she cannot dress professionally.   I find it hard to feel like those teachers, who ask us to respect them, are really very interested in their chosen line of work.  At the same time they are verbally demanding respect, they are asking for disrespect by the manor in which they speak, dress, and act.   Though their intentions may be proper, their outward appearance does not ask for respect.

This lack of professionalism has pervaded business as well as education.  Could you have imagined, 50 years ago, the president of any company coming to work in filthy clothing?  Surely things can happen that clothing gets dirty at work, but I find it very hard to take a man or woman seriously who does not take his or her own position seriously.  In my opinion, professional people should dress, act, and work as professionals and not as common laborers.

Even truck drivers, heavy machine operators, plumbers and other professionals of yesteryear used to be clean shaven, groomed, and dressed professionally.  These days most of them look like unshaven dirty homeless beggars wearing rags.

What happened over the last 50 years to degenerate so far?  No wonder our civilization is crumbling.

When is enough enough?

I thought I had heard all the drivel the liberal appeasers could spew.  However I read something today that set my hair on fire and blood shooting out of my eyeballs.

When do we stop catering to one piece of 4th century civilization and begin exercising some sense?  I read an article today about a man in Switzerland who was convicted of a crime because he offended muslims when he began to YODEL while mowing his lawn.  He was on his own property mowing his own lawn with his own lawnmower, enjoying the weather and his life and began to yodel.  The neighbors were incensed because it sounded to them like he was making fun of their religion.  I am offended that society caters to this segment of our civilization.  I am offended that I must be terrorized by this.  I am offended that I must be so careful to not offend that I cannot even express myself at all for fear of prosecution.

It seems to me that these muslims offend and offend and offend, but it is deemed proper because they only offend Christians, Buddists and others.  After all, only muslims are proper people.  Everyone else is cannon fodder and not worthy to live.  I learned a term, when I worked on the railroad, that properly describes this thinking.  Bull manure!!  I believe that many muslims are good hard working solid citizens, but the vast majority are terrorists, either actively or passively.  They make us nervous because we "might offend" them and cause them to kill us all.

My opinion is this.  Let them.  God permits bad people to do bad things so that they may eternally indict themselves.  Bad people will be bad no matter what.  Let them send themselves to lodge with Lucifer if that is what they want.  It won't change the rest of us.  Why should we subject ourselves to all of this nonsense.
We should maintain our liberties and if it offends others...shame on them.   One of my very good friends said this: "Offend me once, shame on you.  Offend me twice, shame on me."  I don't intentionally offend anyone, but I also laugh at the jokes that target me.  It's funny...why should I be offended instead of laugh.  I'm not that sour.

Queen Michelle Obama doesn't trust US?

Of all the unmitigated gall!  Queen Michelle Obama doesn't trust parents to make sure their children are getting proper nutrition.  So as a result she pressured King Barry to press forward the "School Meal" act that was signed into law today.  King Barry said he did it because he doesn't like to sleep on the couch.  That seems to me to be an appropriate reason to put billions of dollars we don't have into a program we don't need or even want. I'm having visions of the story "1984".

I wonder when the government will require us to send our children to "raising centers" because we cannot be trusted to teach our children right from wrong.

Where are the Christian Evangelists on this one?  Why have we not heard from the Amerikan Civil Liberties Union?  Why are they not championing the rights of the individuals and families to make decisions for themselves?  I don't get it.

Understandably the churches are afraid to enter into this conflict for fear of losing their tax exempt status, for surely King Barry would sick the IRS onto them if they stepped out of line.  I wonder what happened to the "unalienable rights" promised by the Constitution of the United States.  That of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I don't recall a right to happiness, but only a right to pursue it.  How dare Queen Michelle supersede parental rights and responsibilities.

The counterfeit Christmas

I've noticed, over the past few years, that Christmas has become counterfeit.  Before you blow up on me, hear me out.

It seems to me that we (collectively) spend, spend, spend, decorate, decorate, decorate, to "show the Christmas spirit" when what we really do is establish our pride.  Suddenly we have to have more lights in our yard and on our house than the neighbors.  We have to have more yard displays than our neighbors because they'll try to have more than we had last year.  We have to line our roofs, windows, sidewalks, fences and property lines with lights, luminarias, wreaths, trees, etc, because it shows how much we celebrate Christmas.  We have to have a tree that will barely fit in the house and then cover it with balls, chains, icicles, lights, and trinkets so that when people come to our house they'll be properly impressed.  We pile mounds of presents under the tree, for which we have spent unearthly amounts of money, so our children can go to school and impress their friends by proudly pronouncing what wonderfully expensive wares they received.

The children's schools are pleased to present X-mas as a winter holiday celebrating Santa Clause and the gifts he brings.  The schools NEVER mention Christmas as the miracle of Jesus' birth. They mention, only in passing in a song, the wise men who came to honor the King.  Our homes rarely even note the existence of Jesus Christ, much less the miracle of His birth.

Why do we not spend more time worshipping He who created this world and who paid for our collective sins?  Why do we not celebrate His birth quietly as He would rather?  We should be visiting our friends and neighbors with a message of faith, hope and charity.  We should offer the poor, needy and helpless that which we can give.  We should be attentive to our churches as He would want us to do.  We should tell the stories of Jesus to our children.

I don't mean to infer that we should not give gifts during the Christmas season, but could we give what is needed to those who need instead of giving needless articles to those who will not appreciate them?  Personally I have enough neck ties to last me past my death.  I am giving gifts for my friends, family, and neighbors for which I have determined a need.  I hope I don't offend anyone as a result.

I reserve the right to give my sweetheart a gift that it pleases me to give.  I don't need to wait for Christmas to give it to her, but I am because it is traditional.

Have you noticed a trend?

I first noticed it when Jimmy Carter was Inept-In-Chief.  It happened again when  Billary Clinton was Philanderer-In-Chief.  It is happening now that we have Imam-in-Chief.  I wonder why that is.  I remember  that many of our national leaders have attempted international blackmail to coerce other nations to assist us.  I wonder why these under-whelming democrats cannot see what I see.

The United States has the largest deposits of natural energy resources in the world.  We know now that the area encompassing Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado has more Oil than the Middle East.  We know the United States has the largest deposit of Natural Gas to be found anywhere.  We have a very large deposit of Uranium.   We have a large desert area where the sun shines 250 days per year.  Why, then, are we held hostage to import oil?

I remember when Ronald Regan decided to permit more oil exploration, the oil cartel suddenly figured out the price of oil had to be reduced.  When G.W. Bush did a similar thing, oil suddenly dropped.  However when these democrats get in power and the tree hugging environmentalist whackos are back in favor, the price of oil skyrockets.  The United States has wonderful power, but we refuse to use it. I recall that the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument was established specifically to prevent oil exploration where a vast pool of oil was expected to be exploited.  I wonder why?

Since manufacturing has been largely killed, and power plants are being shuttered in the name of the almighty EPA, we are forced to use imported oil.  It is a shame, really, when we have so much here.  Why is it that these nutcases are insistent that we use imported oil.  I have a really good idea why, and I'll likely express it another time.  Why have there been no oil refineries built in the last 10+ years?  Why does each electric producing plant proposed met with such venom?  Why are the regulators and the so-called environmental protectionists so intent on putting us back to the 1820's?  How much are they being paid to protest every advance being made, and who pays them?

It's time for the United States to get back to work.  We need to start producing our own products, energy,  and self esteem.  We have the technology to bring ocean water into the dessert, purify it, sell the by-products to pay for itself.  The technology existed more than 20 years ago as proven by one of my former co-workers.  Why we think there is insufficient water to irrigate the desert I can't imagine.  We can produce oil and water cheaply, and rather easily.  Why will we not do it?  Because our national leaders are afraid the people will actually have a little wealth and they want us to be as poor as the poorest 3rd country nation.

The gift that won't go away

So, the demicans can't figure out how to make themselves look good, so they've decided to just sabotage themselves and the whole process of government.  Now they've decided to attempt to torpedo Mr. Obama's compromise struck with the republicrats.  The only thing on their mind is to figure out a way to continue the destruction of the greatest nation on this world.   I wonder why these knot-heads haven't been looking the examples of socialism that have NOT been successful.   Evidence of insanity is to continue doing the same things over and over with the expectation of a different outcome.  It didn't work out well in the Soviet Union, China's attempt at socialism has had to be altered, Venezuela's attempt is in failure mode, Cuba is poverty stricken as a result of their version of socialism.

I wonder why these highly informed and educated legislators cannot see what I see.  I am pretty sure I am no smarter than anyone else.  Perhaps my thinking that "common sense is not that common" is more correct than even I realized.

I wonder how bad things must get before the populace will simply revolt, stop playing sheep, and root out the corruption in government.  I hope it will be soon.  We have a good beginning with the recent election cycle, but it isn't enough.  I believe that power does corrupt.  And the more power accumulated = more corruption.  Our government is too over-powering, too corrupt, and too invasive.

Lucifer was cast out of heaven because he wanted to force all of God's children to do good.  God wants us to have the freedom to choose.  Government shouldn't even attempt to prevent the choices that God has given us.

Those knuckleheads just don't get it.

I often wonder what it is.  Is it the city limit? Is it the property boundary?  Is it the first step?  Is it the offices?  Is it the dome?  I can't figure out why our elected representatives suddenly get "brain dead disease" when they arrive at their posts in Washington DC, or any of the state capitols.

I learned today that Mr. Obama (I can't bring myself to call him "President") has reached a compromise with the Republicrats.  Why is there a compromise?  We, the people, have offered a pretty strong statement as to what we want those wrong-headed people to accomplish.  From my point of view it is this:

1.  Clean out government.  Get rid of that which the constitution does not support.  Stop funding things that run up the debt.  Close departments that are worthless.  Our children have suffered as a result of federal meddling in our school systems.  Close the Department of Education.  Our energy costs are skyrocketing because of the regulation of energy discovery and production.  Close the Department of Energy.  Our freedoms are compromised in the name of "national security" and the costs are skyrocketing.  I wonder who is getting the kick-backs.  Close the Department of Homeland Security.  Our surface transportation system is being regulated to death by people who have no idea what it takes to transport goods across America.  Close the Department of Transportation.  Our tax laws are incomprehensible even to the IRS.  Institute flat taxes and close the IRS and it's private army and courts.

2.  Treat everyone fairly.  Tax the family earning minimum wage at the same rate as the giant corporations with only deductions for charitable organizations.  If that rate was 5% everyone would feel that they participate in this great country.  There would be fewer slugs. Institute work-fare.  If you get help from the government, you must work for it at reduced rate.  It would stimulate people to get real jobs.  There are enough things needing done.  Parks need cleaned, government buildings need maintained.  Get rid of the government labor unions and make the welfare folks help out.  Just think how much better off our communities would be.

3.  Reduce the amount of "assistants" each representative has.  I can't even imagine why they have such vast staffs.  Reduce the amount of money to be paid for Executive Branch salaries.  It used to be that you worked as a volunteer in the Executive Branch. Return it to that point.  Most of the cabinet is wealthy in their own right and don't need the salaries.  The deputies, assistants, and others should be paying for the education  they are receiving while learning government service.

4.  Praise God publicly.  Require public prayers to invoke His intervention in governmental business and then pronounce a benediction thanking Him for His protection of our great nation.

Don't like my proposals?  Perhaps Venezuela or Cuba, or Iran could benefit from your better judgment.

See, I told you so...

A few days ago I noted that I felt that it would not be long before the goons in federal government would require "papers" in order to leave the country.  Well....I learned today that it has come to pass.  People who are planning to leave the country for more than just a short time are required to undergo an FBI background check.  WHAT????  I couldn't believe it, but I learned today that prospective missionaries leaving the country have to undergo background checks.

WHY???

I want the Justice Department to explain, in words I can understand, why this is necessary.  I want Congress to tell me why this is necessary.  I'm inclined to believe Congress doesn't even know this is necessary.  This has gone too far.  We don't live in the Soviet Union.  We also don't live in Hitler's Germany.  The socialists have obviously overstepped their bounds.  It is time the citizens of this great country pull on the choke chains and rein in the bureaucratic terrorists in our government.

I am Logan's GrandPappy

Who is Logan you ask?  Well Logan is my grandson and he is two years old. Logan has a fraternal twin brother.  He is also handicapped in that he is autistic.  Now when you think of autism you automatically think.....oh...the kid is mentally retarded, and that is not the case.  Logan is pretty smart.  It's just that he doesn't communicate the same as other people. Logan doesn't trust easily.  When we go to his house (which we normally do every Sunday), it takes him at least an hour to warm up to his Grandma and me.  Logan uses several ways to communicate, some of which I don't understand well.  He uses sign language, some limited verbal language, and body language.

It hasn't been easy to understand Logan.  We love him as we love all of our grand children, but I have trouble interacting with him because he doesn't warm up to me well.  I admit that I might be a little scary to him.  I'm on the high side of huge and he isn't.  However, eventually he will allow me to hold him and visit with him one on one.

Logan's mother is saintly.  She has 6 other children to deal with and often must do it alone.  The older children are wonderful helpers, and handle many of the caretaker chores for these twin brothers, but ultimately the work of raising the children falls to her.  I believe my daughter would not cope well without the help of her older children.

I guess the reason for this posting is this.  Special needs children often need more than their parents can do alone.  Grand parents, older siblings, neighbors, support groups, church groups and friends are integral parts of parental sanity.  Sometimes just a kind word is enough to help.  Sometimes parents need a day off from the intensive crowd control that is required.  I appreciate all the kindness and support shown to my daughter and her family

The Oak Ridge Boys-Cedar City, Utah Concert

What a GREAT program.  My family and I fell in love with the Oak Ridge Boys more than 20 years ago.  I purchased an album and we found Elvira.  We used Elvira as motivation for our children to help clean the house on Christmas Eve from that first time and down through the years.  We turned it on, cranked up the volume and danced and cleaned.

From that time I have wanted to see the Boys in concert, but have never had an opportunity.  I've worked on the railroad and I am a truck driver, I'm often where the Boys aren't.  However.....Last night was an opportunity I was not about to miss.  I purchased tickets as soon as they were available and took my wife and two daughters to see the GREATEST Country/Gospel group I have ever listened to.

THANK YOU Oak Ridge Boys for a clean, uplifting and wonderful concert.  I danced and sang with you through most of the songs.  It was WONDERFUL.  Thank you for a extraordinary evening with my wife and daughters.

Back to the rant tomorrow.

The message goes unheeded

I see our "fairly" elected members of congress still have not got the message.  I see the Senate rejected the ban on earmarks.  8 so called conservatives joined the Democrats to alter the will of the people again.  It sounds much like we'll have to target them in their next election.  Of course most of us will have forgotten that they bailed on conservatism.  Are they RINOs or are they just Republicrats.  Why can these people not understand that the people want the government to REDUCE, REDUCE, REDUCE.  Bringing home the so called bacon is what is killing our economic health and increasing poverty.

Michael Savage is right!  Instead of practicing "Trickle Down Economics", we are practicing "Trickle Up Poverty".  The socialists in power are determined to repress the wealthy and middle class until we are all amongst the poverty class. That way we all have to lean on the government for everything.  I wonder why that didn't work in the Soviet Union, hasn't worked in Cuba, isn't working in Venezuela, and has been partially abandoned even in China.

We need to reduce government at any cost and strenuously foster manufacturing and farming at any cost.  Remove the barriers to entrepreneurship.  Stop requiring a "license" for every little thing.  I can't believe all of the regulations and rules preventing men and women from entering into family run businesses.  I live in a small town...what a joy it used to be before we decided we must act like a metropolis and enact laws and ordinances preventing people from doing what they hope will be their life's work.  After all, these days a child must have a "license" to operate a lemonade stand in front of her home.  What kind of idiot thinks up these things?

We, who live in a small community, used to be conservative.   However some of us have succumbed to the enticings of the liberal drivel dominating the so-called main stream media.  Unfortunately the regular people think they must know something because they speak well and use big words. I say boot the bums out.  I'd rather have an uneducated citizen in political office than one that is there just for the power he/she can wield as a result.

What will you DO for Christmas?

Christmastime is upon is.  It is a time of careful consideration.  I have thought for many years that the commercialism that is so rampant during these 4 weeks is obscene.  While I think the giving of gifts is representative of the gift the Savior gave to us through the Atonement, I believe we should spend less money and spend more of our time and personal effort to ease the burdens of others.

One of the best times of my family's life is when we helped another family to enjoy Christmas.  Our children agreed to reduce their expectations in order to help our target family.  Several days before Christmas we left a tree at their door because we noticed they had no tree.  The next day we left lights for the tree.  The next day we provided small gifts for the children and so on.  On Christmas eve we gave the food needed for a traditional Christmas dinner.  Then on Christmas morning we left a large box of gifts we thought the children and even the adults would enjoy.  We spent less than a quarter of the money we would have normally spent, but our children remember that Christmas best, and some have incorporated that tradition in their own families now.

We have learned several lessons.  Our family doesn't have to RECEIVE to enjoy Christmas.  Our family enjoys Christmas more when they see the gifts they GIVE lighten the burden of others.  We rarely remember the things we GET for Christmas, but we always remember the joy and wonder the recipients show when we give of ourselves.

We also learned we don't need to depend on others for our happiness.  We can generate it for ourselves.  If our political leaders would understand that lesson we all would be better off.

We learned that we, as a community, can watch out for each other and help each other without interference from the government.  We learned that we can enjoy the joy of others particularly when we do it anonymously.  We are better when WE choose how to help instead of politicians forcing us.

Commitment - the way out

What if Congress lived up to its commitments?  What if our political representatives actually contained themselves and voted to require themselves to live under the same rules as the rest of us.  What if there was no federal retirement for politically elected and appointed people.  What if congress became a "part-time" job.  What if the President were confined to a staff of 20.  What if congressional representative were confined to a staff of 3.  What if the Pentagon was actually required to be responsible for the money it spends.  What if the Department of State could not keep secrets from the public.  What if our representatives were required to retire at 60 years old like airline pilots.  What if congress had to live by the same rules it requires of truck drivers.

Unfortunately, Congress will never agree to all this.  That is why it will take a violence free revolution.  We just need to vote all current office holders out of office and start anew.  Then on to term limits.   3 terms in the House, 2 terms in the Senate.  Put the professional politician out of work.

This nation can again become great

There is a simple solution to all of our economic, social, and international problems.  The solution is simple, but the implementation of it is not.

A prophet on the American Continent over 4000 years ago said this, "For behold, this is a land choice above all other lands; wherefore he that doth possess it shall serve God or shall be swept off; for it is the everlasting decree of God.  And it is not until the fullness of iniquity among the children of the land, that they are swept off." (Ether 2:10)

As I see it the way to improvement is through repentance and return to worship Almighty God.  Return to our roots of personal, family and community worship. Teach again  the Golden Rule.  Teach morals, honesty and integrity.  Teach concern for our fellow man.  Return to real commitment to spouse and children.  Protect "good samaritans" in every case.

So here is a beginning.  Institute tort reform.  Put the lawyers on notice that if they seek out clients and lose a case, the lawyer pays, not the client.  Put the courts on notice that if they cannot adjudicate laws honestly according to the Constitution, they will be voted out of office.  Close the casinos.  Encourage family farming  and manufacturing again.

Then, get government out of our pockets.  Reduce the Department of Agriculture.   Defund the Department of Education, the Department of Energy, The Department of Homeland Security, The Department of Health,  The Department of Transportation, The Securities and Exchange Commission, Most of the Department of State, Most of the Department of the Interior, The Interstate Commerce Commission, the Federal Communications Commission and Most of the Department of the Treasury including the IRS.  Sell off the land currently managed by the Bureau of Land Mis-management, Sell off the National Parks and National Monuments to responsible resort management companies.  Make the US Congress a 90 day/year service.

The reduction in fraud, mis-management, bribery, and outright criminal abuse of the public would go far.  Just think of the money saved as a result.

Lame ducks are indeed lame

I have always been interested in the tomfoolery in which a lame duck session of Congress involves itself.  This congress cannot possibly think that it can put another one over on the electorate.  I've heard all the babble about how members of congress are better informed than the electorate, and that may have been true in times past.  However, in these times of highly accessible information, there is little that is not known to anyone who has the desire to dig.  And most of us that are into politics ARE willing to dig.

Members of congress need to be alert that WE the PEOPLE will not again permit them to think that we are uninformed.  By way of this post they should be wary of underhanded and shady dealings with "special interest" groups that wind up contrary to the best interests of the PEOPLE.  We have shown that we can "fire" members of congress, and we are willing to do so again if they fail to pay attention.  We have a motto, in my circle of friends, which is "SEARCH, PONDER, & PRAY.  I admonish members of congress to SEARCH out the will of the people, PONDER the effects, and PRAY to Heavenly Father to know how to implement the will of the people and NOT the will of those few elitists in the halls of congress.

We have much for which to be thankful

Today is Thanksgiving.  We have much that makes our lives worthwhile.  I am thankful for the Pilgrims that came to this land to escape the conditions in Europe nearly 500 years ago.  I am thankful for the founders of our great nation, who wrote 2 divinely inspired documents.  I am thankful for the drafters and signers of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America.  I am thankful for a loving Heavenly Father, who watches over those who are willing to follow His Son, Jesus Christ.  I am thankful for the atonement that permits me to return to Heavenly Father's presence.  I am thankful for a church that helps me to learn of Him and learn to follow Him.  I am thankful for my family.  I am thankful for the love that my family has for one another, and for others in our realm of influence.  I am thankful for wonderful friends and neighbors who look out for us.  I am thankful for the marvels of modern medicine.  I am thankful for modern technology that permits me to post this message.

Mostly, I am just thankful.  I'll return to my political rant tomorrow.

I just can't believe it.

So the poor little TSA molesters are upset that the public doesn't like getting pawed.  I'm sooo sorry.  What in the world did they expect?  That the sheeple would just put up with sexual molestation that would be illegal anywhere else?  C'mon!  Even lazy brain-dead government grifters ought to know better.  I heard today that Big Sis won't do the so called "body scan", and neither will the smartest woman in America (Mrs Clinton for those of Rush Limbaugh's Rio Linda audience).

And now I see they don't like it when people just strip off their clothing.  TSA agents make them put their clothing back on so they can grope them.  HUH????  Did I understand this correctly?  "Put your clothes back on so we can molest you?"  I guess they can't molest with just their eyes, and if there are no clothing, they have no reason to touch passengers.  Now it all comes clear.

And why is it a crime to capture the treatment of the public by these goons on tape?  I guess because if it can't be taped, it can't be brought to light.  So much for Obama's transparency in government.  We all knew it was a lie, but he told it so well. Every passenger on every flight should take video of the goings on at the checkpoints and then press criminal charges for Lewdness, Voyeurism, Molestation, Assault, Unlawful Detention, Unreasonable Search, and Conspiracy.  Let's force the courts to resolve this issue.  It needs to be a massive court embarrassment to the government.  I'll bet there are many hungry attorneys looking for work.   If local District Attorneys aren't willing to take the cases, then we'll go to civil court.  We won't be treated this way.

Welcome to the People's Republic of America

I have feared this for some time.  We have finally arrived to the USSR 1960's.  I wonder when the Secret Service will start following people around to make sure they don't do anything subversive.  Oops....The FBI already does that.  Errr, I wonder when this TSA nonsense will become...."You can't fly without "papers" permitting you to do so signed by some political crony of whatever politician is in power."  I wonder when it will become illegal for US citizens to leave the country because the American Politburo has determined it isn't "safe".  What CRAP!

Let's see.  The current crop of potential Politburo candidates want to confiscate our personal weapons.  They make us get a license to do anything professional.  They prevent innovation and/or risk through taxation.  If there is a way to repress the people they seek to implement it.

Too bad there isn't a better place on the planet to live.  I prefer to participate in the revolution it will take to make this nation the place it was intended to be by the founders.

We've already lost the war on terror

Osama and his ilk have already won.  America is terrorized from within.  With all the so called "security defenses" that have been and will be instituted we have lost our freedoms and our peace of mind.  I figure I am terrorized when I have to show my naked body to perverts at the airport or instead allow myself to be legally sexually molested.  When we are afraid to fly because Obama's gestapo agents will molest us or ridicule us when we fear for our personal security, we have lost the battle.

I personally will no longer fly.  I will drive or take the train, or take the bus, but I will not fly.  I, who used to be a fairly frequent flier, will no longer fly.  I hope the airlines get this message quickly.  They cannot and should not allow the federal government to dictate how their passengers are treated.  Since the properties used by the airlines are not owned by the federal government, and the planes are also not owned by the government, and since the airlines must pay to use the air routes in which they fly, the government needs to get out of the airline's and it's passenger's business.

The stories coming out now with regard to abusive behavior of the TSA agents are not acceptable.  They treat people with or without medical conditions with impunity.  Congress needs to defund the Department of Homeland Security in general and TSA specifically, and then limit the ability of government to terrorize Americans.

TSA - A pervert's dream come true.

I wonder what questions the TSA asks their potential employees.  I suppose questions could be:

1.  Do you enjoy groping people of your own sex?

2.  Are you voyeuristic?

3.  Do you enjoy grabbing testicles and/or breasts to be sure they are not implanted with bombs?

4.  Are you addicted to pornography?

5.  Do you believe that 911 and subsequent terrorist activities were the fault of older white anglo men and women?  Or that it was Older African American men/women?

6.  Are you a child molester or a registered sex offender?

If you answer "Yes" to all of the above you are extremely qualified to work in the TSA's exam and enforcement division at airports and rail stations.

If you have problems with any of the above, you obviously are a terrorist.

Mrs. Pelosi should leave congress.

Imagine the arrogance of Mrs. Pelosi.  She is of the opinion she had nothing to do with the historical losses the Democrats took in the mid-term elections.  She indicated that it was only the economy that defeated the Democrats.  Good grief!  Does she not know that the economic disaster came on her watch?  Does she not know that the policies of giving money to the banks, insurance companies, automobile companies directly did nothing to help the economy?  And now she wants to INCREASE taxes.  Obviously the Speaker's office comes with complete insulation from reality.  In order to improve economic health, money needs to get into the hands of the SPENDERS, not the already overpaid executives and kicked-back to the politicians who do not spend to the same degree.

Money is like water.  In order for it to remain fresh, it must move.  Give the money to the masses who will spend and spend and spend.  As they do so, jobs are created, tax revenues are increased.

Austerity? Maybe it depends on what the definition of is is.

Let's see.  70 airplanes, $200M per day for expenses.  Seems a little like disregard for the trust of the American people.  That money being spent EVERY DAY would support more than 4000 families for an entire year.  So when you figure 10 days at that rate, Mr. Obama is spending enough in 10 days to support 40,000 families for a year.  So much for being concerned for the so called "little people".  These political elites have no idea what the "little people" deal with.  We need to get them ALL out of office and start with CITIZEN LEGISLATORS.  Meaning not professional legislative thieves, but rather real people who go to Washington with the intent of staying only 2 terms in office.  I'd rather they not be lawyers or government employees but people who have to scrimp and save to stay alive.  These elites have no idea what a dollar means.

Building Our Nation

Perhaps our national and state leaders should occasionally listen to leaders of religion, and then look back in history to learn what made our nation a great nation.

Our ancestors came to this land as families.  They built their communities based on families.  They built family farms, factories, stores, and services.  The sons learned the family business from their fathers and grandfathers who taught them what worked for them and what didn't.  They worked hard and were usually, but not always, successful.  They rarely gave up.

Our nation needs to again focus on the family.  We should be working fervently to keep families together, and to reduce the divorce rate.  The so called "Inheritance tax" should be eliminated.  Those monies have already been taxed and should not be taxed again.  Instead it should be encouraged to be invested in the family's business, thereby producing employment which in turn produces tax revenues,

When the family is strengthened, the communities are strengthened.  When the communities are strengthened crime is reduced.  When crime is reduced insurance payouts are reduced.  When payouts are reduced premiums are reduced.  When premiums are reduced, more money is reinvested to produce more employment and therefore more taxes.

Strengthen families by encouraging church attendance. Nobody says you have to indicate which church, but encourage church attendance wherever they choose.

Results?   Our nation becomes stronger and its citizens become better people.

What about China?

I've been doing some amateur research lately.  It is very hard to find products on store shelves that are not made in China.  Surely Americans can make anything that is made in China.  We can get our economy moving and create jobs by one simple device.

Close the door on China.  Totally embargo Chinese goods.  It will upset them, but after all they have the most populace.  Perhaps they can use the goods they produce there.

Get rid of the environmental regulations that prohibit domestic factories from producing products we need.

Reduce most foreign aid.  Those people don't appreciate our money.  It is obvious by the distaste we detect when we visit foreign countries.

RESULTS....

1.  Jobs are created.  Money is retained in the US for reinvestment.

2.  The treasury is flooded with money.

3.  Instills the "invest in America" culture.

4.  No more China problem

Will they never learn?

Boy...I don't know if those whom we elect to run our country have any brains or not.  First we endured the "Stimulus" package that only put money where it WOULD NOT be used to move our economy along.  Then we get the economy busting "Health Care Reform" nonsense.  All that for WAAAYY more money than it would take to put this country on the fast track to recovery.  Here's my recomendation:

1.  Get a list of all the US Passport holders.

2.  Give all current valid passport holders (regardless of who they are or their tax status) $10,000.  Give the populace 6 months to obtain their passport and still qualify for the $10,000.

RESULTS....

1. Bills are paid.. Mortgages are caught up.  Goods and services are purchased.

2. The money trickles up. Companies receive the money and are able to reinvest in their business.  Banks get the money back.  The treasury gets ALL the money back plus some because this money is taxed every time it changes hands.

Am I the only one that can see this?
