Reuniting Children to Their Law-Breaking Parents

There is so much angst with regard to "families" that cross into the United States illegally that rabid thinking seems to have pervaded our national political thought.  Some of our friends and relatives think that it is immoral for citizens of other nations coming into the US illegally should be separated from their children, but should be given a "get-out-of-jail-free" pass not given to US citizens who commit illegal acts.

In order to promote fairness to all peoples who commit illegal acts, whether US citizens or citizens of foreign lands I propose the following:

All persons incarcerated due to suspicion of a crime or as a result of sentencing after a court proceeding should be required to take his/her family into the jail/prison along with him/her.  I suspect the do-gooder folks will cry foul, but isn't that exactly what is wanted for illegal immigrant families?  After all I keep hearing, prisons apparently are the best place to raise children when their parents are incarcerated.

Crossing the US border without permission is a crime.  Illegal entry into someone's home is a crime.  Breaking into any premises for the purpose of robbing and killing is a crime.  Why should one class of criminal be given preference over another?  Why should non-US citizens have priority over US citizens?  Therefore, prisons should be redesigned so that children and spouses can enjoy prison life equally with the law-breaker.

Where does this end?

Let the hue and cry commence.
